Here is today's severe weather outlook. SPC has once again outlined a very large area for severe weather development today. The area outlined is mostly in the plains and western states. It includes states like KS,CO,UT,ND,SD,NE,IA,MN,NV,WY,MT and Idaho. A slight risk for tornadoes exists a portion of the plains area why another risk for tornadoes exists in the mountain west area. A high hail risk exists in the dakota's. Elsewhere regular threats exist for wind and hail. Heat remains a factor across the nation. Keep yourselves cool folks.

2 new slight risk areas have been added to the outlook per the latest update from the prediction center. The first new area will be over the southern states like Louisiana and Texas. No risk for tornadoes expected there. The second new area will be over the eastern areas of North Carolina. Again no tornado risk is expected. Tornado risk in the Dakota's has increased to a 5% range.
